The 2010 Miss Albertville Candidates

The 2010 Miss Albertville Candidate Sign-up is now CLOSED until our 2011 Candidate Season starts up again in Feb!

Each winter, in conjunction with Friendly City Days, the Albertville Royalty Program begins its search for Candidates for the up-coming year. The Royal Court represents Albertville at community parades and coronations, as well as Albertville city events. Volunteerism is an important part of this program; the Royal Court is encouraged to be active in charitable opportunities in and around our community.

Following the reign, a scholarship is provided to apply towards whatever educational Institution Miss Albertville & each Princess might be a part of!

Scholarship amounts will be determined by the Royalty Committee and the Friendly City Days Coordinator (the amount of funds raised during candidate season and donations from our Friendly City Days Committee and the Albertville Lions helps us to determine the amounts).

To Be an Eligible Miss Albertville Candidate:

q 2010 Candidates must be between the ages of 17 & 20 years old, but must be 18 by June 1^st 2011.

q Candidate must be a resident of the Albertville, St. Michael, or Otsego area.

q Candidate must be actively seeking, or has already received, a high school diploma.

q Candidate/Royalty must be a single female, and agrees that they have not been, are not now, and will not become pregnant or married during the year of reign if selected to represent Albertville.

q Parents of each Candidate are required to sign the “Candidate Handbook” to ensure they have full knowledge of the parent involvement required with the Candidate/Royalty Program.

q Candidate/Royalty must be willing to represent Albertville in a positive & friendly manner.

What the Candidate Program Offers:

The Candidate Program is filled with fun, friendships and opportunities to grow, learn and discover your potential. The schedule each Candidate will receive at the Orientation Meeting will provide all of the particulars for each candidate event.

The 2010 Candidate Orientation Meeting will be held on Sunday, March __ 2010, beginning at 2:30 pm. Together, each Candidate and at least one parent MUST attend the meeting. If that date is un-available for the candidate and parent, the Program Director may try to set up an alternate meeting to accomadate you.

Some of the Candidate Events highlights are:

* The program provides an Albertville Business to sponsor each candidate

* Each candidate has a personal interview with Judges from outside this community

* Participation in a Style Show. (The 2 outfits are provided by the Outlet Mall)

* Candidate’s vote on which candidate is most congenial – winner gets an Outlet Mall gift card!

* Candidates attend the Buffalo Brunch & Parade together.

* Candidates help host the Pre-Parade Brunch for the visiting royalty.

* All ride in the Friendly City Days Parade. (convertible provided by your sponsor)

* Full participation in the Coronation Program of the new Albertville Royal Court.

More details of each event and an organized copy of the candidate schedule was/will be handed out at the Senior Candidate Orientation/Sign-up Meeting! Fri, 11th - Coronation Rehearsal - Middle School West Auditorium - 6:15 PM check-in (rehearsal - 6:15-8:15)

Sat, 12th - Root Beer Float/Face Painting - Lions Shelter - 10:50 AM check-in (event runs 11-1)

Sat. 12th - Royal Spaghetti Dinner - Albertville Parish Center - 4:00 PM (event runs 4:30-7:00)
