Each winter, the Albertville Royalty Committee will begin seeking Junior Candidates to run for Junior Miss and Commodore. 

Four children (two boys and two girls) will be selected to represent Albertville as the Junior Royal Court.  Due to limited seating on the float, only two juniors ride the float at a time.  The 4 juniors selected will sign up and take turns riding in the parades (leaving your summer schedule a bit less hectic!). 

To be an eligible Candidate, each boy or girl must be:

q  At least 6 years old.

q  Currently in the First Grade.

q  A student of the St. Michael/Albertville School Dist.

 The Junior Candidate Program offers:

All Junior Candidates participate in Coronation – Following Parade

The Junior Candidates are not judged.  At the Coronation, all the candidates’ names are dropped into a hat and two girl and two boy names are drawn, those four children will be the new Junior Royal Court!   The Junior Royalty is expected to attend parades, a few brunches and some community service projects throughout their reign.

Parental participation is crucial within this program.   Parents of the selected children should be willing and committed to following through with the schedule put in place for the full year should their child be selected.        

If you have a First Grade child and you are interested in having him or her participate in the Jr. Candidate Program, keep a close eye on your child’s take home folders in February, as the committee will be placing a Jr. Candidate Flyer in all the 1^st grade students folders that will give more information on sign up!

FYI:  Junior Candidate sign-up is limited to the first 10 boys & first 10 girls that call to be added to the list once the flyer is put out in the folders.
